WR'S NIGHT BLOCK on UP & DN SLOW LINES
BETWEEN MUMBAI CENTRAL AND MAHIM
A five hours jumbo block will be taken from 23.40 hrs to 04.40 hrs on Dn Slow line and Two and half hours block from 01:45 hrs to 04:15 hrs on up slow line in the night falling between Saturday/Sunday, 23/24.08.2014 between Mumbai Central and Mahim Jn. for maintenance of track, signaling and overhead equipments.
During the block, all Dn slow line trains will run on Dn fast line between Churchgate and Mahim Jn. These diverted trains will not halt at Mahalaxmi, Elphinstone Road and Matunga Road for want of platform. Hence, passengers can travel in opposite direction for their destinations between Bandra and Mumbai Central Stations.
All 12 car slow trains will take double halt at Lower Parel and Mahim Jn.
Last Up local No. VR 91182 leaving Virar at 0:05 hrs will be detained at Mahim Jn. upto arrival of last Dn local No. BVI 91241 at Mahim to facilitate passengers of Matunga Road, Elphinstone Road and Mahalaxmi.
Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned Station Masters. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.

DISSEMINATING INFORMATION TO VENDORS
In continuation to its best possible efforts to maintain and further upgrade its services in various fields, Western Railway has now put their best foot forward to use technology for disseminating important information regarding status of bills etc. to its vendors, contractors and suppliers.
According to a WR Press Release, Western Railway’s Finance department has implemented this useful system, under which SMS and email based information will be given to vendors. They will get system triggered real time information about their bills etc. through SMS alerts. Various automatic reports like TDS, Form 16 etc. can also be had through email just by sending a SMS in a pre-defined format. To implement this modern technological system, concerned unit of Finance department of W. Rly. is obtaining details about Vendor/Firm’s name, PAN No, Vendor Code, Mobile No. and email ID.
This new system will result in various advantages such as real time tracking of bills, faster processing, transparency etc.
Special Train for Velankanni Festival from Bandra (T)
To clear the extra rush on the eve of Velankanni Festival, it has been decided to run 2 trips of special train between Bandra Terminus and Velankanni.
Train No 09001 Bandra(T) – Velankanni special will leave Bandra on 27th August, 2014 (Wednesday) at 07.55 hrs to reach Velankanni on the next day at 22.00 hrs. Similarly train no 09002 Velankanni - Bandra(T) Special will leave Velankanni at 23.45 Hrs on 28th August 2014 (Thursday ) and will arrive Bandra (T) at 11.00 hrs on 30th August,2014.
This train will halt at Borivali, Vasai Road, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Solapur, Wadi, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Gooty, Tadipatri, Yerraguntala, Cudapah, Rajampeta, Renigunta, Arakkonam, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Chengalpet, Villupuram, Tirutadaripulliyar, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur Jn. and Nagapattinam station in both side.
The train will comprise of AC 3-Tier, Second Class Sleeper and Second Class General coaches.
The booking for 09001 will open at all Passenger Reservation Centers on 16th August, 2014.
WR TO RUN GANAPATI SPECIAL TRAINS TO MADGAON FROM BANDRA (T) & AHMEDABAD (Via VASAI ROAD)
For the convenience of passengers during Ganesh Festival, WR will run Special train services between Bandra(T) - Madgaon (Goa) and Ahmedabad - Madgaon (Goa) via Vasai Rd.
Bandra(T) – Madgaon Special Train
Train No.09009 Bandra(T)– Madgaon Special Train will leave Bandra(T) at 00.15 hrs on every Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday from 27th August to 10th September, 2014. It will reach Madgaon at 16.30 hrs, on same day.
Similarly, in return direction Train No.09010 Madgaon – Bandra(T) Special Train will leave Madgaon at 20.00 hrs on every Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday from 27th August to 10thSeptember, 2014. It will arrive at Bandra(T) at 13.20 hrs, the next day.
The train will halt at Andheri, Borivali, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Zarap, Sawantwadi Road, Madure, Pernem, Thivim and Karmali stations in both directions.
The train will have AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper class and II class general coaches.
Ahmedabad – Madgaon (Tri Weekly) Special Train
(via Vasai Road)
Train No.09416 Ahmedabad–Madgaon (Tri Weekly) Special Train will leave Ahmedabad at 16.55 hrs on every Monday, Thursday & Sunday from 25th August to 8th September, 2014. It will arrive at Vasai Rdat 00.40 hrs next day and reach Madgaon at 16.30 hrs.
Similarly, in return direction Train No.09415 Madgaon – Ahmedabad (Tri Weekly) Special Train will leave Madgaon at 20.00 hrs on every Tuesday, Friday & Monday from 26th August to 9th September, 2014.It will arrive at Vasai Rd at 10.40 hrs next day and reach Ahmedabad at 20.00 hrs.
The train will halt at Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari,Valsad, Vapi, Dahanu Road, Boisar, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Zarap, Sawantwadi Road, Madure, Pernem, Thivim and Karmali stations in both directions.

PREMIUM SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN YESHWANTPUR & JAIPUR EXTENDED.
Railways have decided to extend the run of premium weekly special train no 02695/02696 between Yeshwantpur & Jaipur. Accordingly, Train No. 02695 Yeshwantpur- Jaipur weekly premium special train will depart from Yeshwantpur at 12:00 hrs on every Thursday and reach Jaipur at 06:35 hrs next day. This train will run from 31st July, 2014 to 28th August, 2014.
Similarly, Train No. 02696 Jaipur – Yeshwantpur weekly premium special train will depart from Jaipur at 22:15 hrs on every Saturday and reach Yeshwantpur at 17:30 hrs next day. This train will run from 07th August, 2014 to 30th August, 2014.
The train will halt at Tumkur, Bellary, Pune, Surat, and Ajmer station in both directions.
The train will have AC II Tier, AC III Tier & Second class sleeper Coaches.
·No waitlisted tickets shall be issued for these trains. There will be no refund except when the train is fully cancelled on railway account due to unforeseen circumstances or due to severe disturbances affecting operations. Adult fare shall be charged for all passengers irrespective of their age. No concession shall be applicable to this train.
·The booking of these trains will be available only through Internet, that is IRCTC’s portal and not through the counters at reservation centres. The passengers are required to carry the prescribed original photo identity card which is used at the time of booking. The fares applicable for each day/transaction shall be indicated at the time of booking on the IRCTC’s e-ticketing website.
·The advance reservation period will be shorter, that is a maximum of 15 days. The fare is also likely to increase depending on the demand intensity.
·Only e-tickets will be permitted for booking.

Change in timings of few trains at certain stations
The timings of certain Westen Railway trains will be changed from 01st, July,2014.
1)Trains which are pre-poned at certain stations enroute –
·19143 Bandra Terninus – Ahmedabad Lokshakti Express will be preponed at Maninagar station en-route however this train will arrive/depart a few minutes late at Kosamba, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Anand, Nadiad and Mahemadavad Kheda Road stations .This train will arrive at Ahmedabad station at 4.20 hrs i.e. 15 minutes before its previous time.
·Train No 19143/19144 Bandra Tr.-Ahmedabad- Bandra Tr. will be re-numbered as 22927/22928 w.e.f 24th July, 2014.
·19113 Bhilad – Vadodara Express will be pre-poned at Palej, Miyagam Karjan Jn. & Vishvamitri stations enroute. However, this train will arrive/depart a few minutes late than its existing time at Ankleshwar & Bharuch stations . This train will arrive at Vadodara at 20.35 Hrs i.e. 10 minutes before its previous time.
·Train No 19113/19114 Bhilad-Vadodra-Bhilad will be re-numbered as 22929/22930 w.e.f 1st July, 2014.
·19063 Bandra Terminus – Jaisalmer Express will be pre- poned at Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Palanpur Jn., Pali Marwar, Luni, Osiyan and Shribdrya Lathi stations enroute. However, this train will arrive/depart a few minutes late than its existing time at Jawai Bandh, Falna, Phalodi Jn & Ramdevra stations enroute. This Train will arrive at Jaisalmer at 12.50 hrs i.e. 25 minutes before its previous time.
·Train No 19063 Bandra Tr.-Jaisalmer- Bandra Tr. will be re-numbered as 22931w.e.f. 15th August, 2014 and 19064 as 22932 w.e.f 25th August, 2014.
·19025 Surat – Mahuva Express will be preponed at all enroute stations and will arrive at Mahuva station at 16.40 hrs i.e.26 minutes before its previous time.
·Train No 19025/19026 Surat – Mahaua - Surat will be re-numbered as 12945/12946 w.e.f 24th July, 2014.
·Train no 12432 Trivandrum- Nizamuddun - Trivendrum Express will be pre- poned at Vasai Road stn This Train will arrive Vasai Road at 03 :10 hrs i.e. 25 minutes before its previous time, Similarly ,Train No. 12431 Trivandrum- Nizamuddun- Trivendrum Express will arrive at Vasai Road at 22:30hrs and will depart at 22:35 hrs instead of 19:35/19:40 hrs .
2)Trains which will depart late –
·19026 Mahuva – Surat Express will depart from Mahuva at 19.55 Hrs i. e. 35 minutes late but will arrive at Surat at scheduled time.
·19064 Jaisalmer – Bandra Terminus Express will depart from Jaisalmer at 19.20 hrs i.e. 50 minutes late than its existing time but will arrive Bandra Terminus at scheduled time.
·Train no 19144 Ahmedabad-Bandra Terminus Lokshakti Express will depart from Ahmedabad at 21.10 hrs i.e. 5 minutes late than its existing time and will arrive at Bandra Terminus at 05.50 hrs. i.e. 5 minutes before its existing time.

However, for remaining trains the timings will be the same up to 31st August, 2014 as per existing time table, as the new Western Zone Public time Table will be effective from 1st September, 2014.
WESTERN RAILWAY GEARS UP FOR MONSOON
In order to keep the wheels of local trains running, monsoon preparations are undergoing on Western Railway in full swing. These preparations are being done to ensure uninterrupted services during the ensuing monsoon. These preparations include cleaning of culverts, desilting of side drains, installations of pumps, special maintenance of infrastructure etc. These works will be completed by 30th May, 2014 in the first phase.
Analysis of Rainfall and Flood prone areas:
Western Railway has identified the flood prone areas on its section. on the basis of this analysis, more attention will be paid to certain sections which could be flood prone such as near Marine Lines and in some places in Charni Road-Grant Road, Mumbai Central, Elphinstone Road, Dadar, Mahim, Bandra-Khar, Andheri-Jogeshwari and Nalasopara-Virar sections.
Western Railway has also come up with the time table showing the dates of high tides of more than 4.5 meters during monsoon 2014. This will help in taking necessary precautions when required most. The dates of major high tides will be as under:

Special Pre-monsoon Action:
ØLifting of tracks in low line areas such as Churchgate yard, Dahisar-Mira Road, Bhayander Yard & Nalasopara-Virar.
ØDe silting and cleaning of all 43 culverts is being done.Funds have been provided by the MCGM. This work will be completed in three phases. The first phase will be completed before the onset of monsoon up to 30th May, 2014 followed by second and third round after necessary inspections and based on the requirement. Some major culverts will be cleaned by the BMC which include Mithi River, Dharavi Nallah, Poisar Nallah, etc. Joint inspections are also being carried out by Railway and MCGM officers/Engineers.
ØWR will installabout 80 diesel pumps at vulnerable low lying locations such as Marine Lines, Mumbai Central, Dadar, Matunga Road, Mahim, Bandra, Andheri, Borivali, Nalasopara, Virar etc.
ØWR has also undertaken the work of de silting of side drains. This work will be completed before the onset of monsoon. After reviewing the position, this work may again be undertaken in June-July and August, 2014 as per requirement.
ØIn order to ensure smooth running of trains during monsoon, special attention is being given to the maintenance of OHE. It includes cleaning of insulators, checking of protective screens on FOB/ROB, protection of catenary wires and earthing.
ØWR has also taken up the monsoon related maintenance work of its EMU suburban rakes which include detection & plugging of possible leakages in EMU coaches and its electrical equipments, smooth movements of windows & doors etc. Work of cleaning of roof of coaches and insulators has also been taken up in hand.
ØWR will come up with a monsoon bookletfor its officers and supervisors. This booklet will not only mention the flood prone areas and important dates of high tides but also the course of action to be taken during such situations. It will also have the telephone numbers of official dealing with disaster management and important telephone numbers of railway and civil officials such as BMC, Weather Bureau etc.
ØRunning of muck specials during nights to clear the muck and garbage, as and when required.
ØRound the clock monitoring during heavy rains by deputing officers/ supervisors at vulnerable locations.
Coordination with BMC:
Joint inspections of Railway and BMC officials have already been started and the first round will be completed before the onset of monsoon. It also includes provision of pumps by BMC at locations where the blockage in the drainage is likely.
This year MCGM has agreed to carry out the work of trimming of trees in its areas adjacent to the Railway lines, as well as in Railway area. The MCGM has been given necessary information in this regard with a request to carry out the work at the earliest possible.
